Great post!

I have a project underway now that will benefit from your post. I already use the Gorm libraries and I really like them a lot. I am not a database designer since I prefer to design it in code and let Gorm handle the DB for me as much as possible.

For one reason or another, I use PostgreSQL rather than MySQL. I really like Go so much more than Java which I spent so much time back in the day. I tell everyone that listens how much better Go is than Java.

These kinds of small web apps are great introductions and can be quite inspirational to others to try out how Go works and how easy it is to learn and be productive. No need for a JVM and a lot of auxiliary machinery.
